“The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page.” – Saint Augustine
I still remember the mixture of excitement and nervousness as I boarded the plane, knowing I was about to spend hours in the air heading toward a completely different part of the world.
What struck me most wasn’t just the distance itself, but how every detail—from the food to the sounds of the language, even the rhythm of daily life—felt so new compared to what I was used to back home. Being so far away made me realize just how big the world is, and at the same time how small it feels when you connect with people despite cultural differences.
That journey changed the way I see travel. It wasn’t only about visiting landmarks or taking photos; it was about stepping outside of my comfort zone, carrying pieces of home with me, and bringing back new perspectives. The distance reminded me that growth often happens when we push ourselves farther than we thought we could go—both literally and figuratively.
