On Letting Go

“Resentment is like drinking poison and then hoping it will kill your enemies.” –
Nelson Mandela

There are moments in life when someone’s words or actions linger in our memory longer than we’d like. It’s tempting to hold onto those feelings, almost as if keeping them close will somehow protect us. But I’ve found that what we carry inside shapes the way we walk through the world.

Instead of replaying old hurts, I try to turn them into lessons. Some teach me patience, others remind me of my own strength, and a few simply show me what I don’t want to repeat. Reframing these experiences has made it easier to move forward with a lighter heart.

For me, peace isn’t about erasing the past. It’s about choosing not to let it take more from me than it already has.
